Hedda Gabler

A new translation by Jack Aldisert, staged for one long weekend in a London flat.

Hedda returns home from her honeymoon and is faced with a lifetime of boredom. Suffocated, betrayed, and struggling with a life devoid of excitement, she looks for ways to fulfil her desires by bringing destruction to those around her, but in the process, also bringing about her own.

In classic Deadweight style, this was a site-specific piece, playing with layers of reality and meta-theatre. Featuring cast from The Manikins and several former members of Shunt.
