The Colour of Oil
A new play by Tony Gretton exploring intergenerational cycles of return and women trying to excercise autonomy in the face of male determination to make them a therapist, a mother, a Madonna, a whore, a blue microfibre cloth, or a vessel.
Set in 2007 across 48 hours in a dingy pub in North London, this was my first foray back into more conventional naturalism after several years of working consistently with absurdism, magical realism and meta-theatre.
